Had this at Rogue's Roost last night. Arrived in a tall glass with a full finger of head on it. Color was a hazy yellow.

Smell was of wheat and yeast, with a touch of citrus.

Taste was a bit yeasty with some mild wheat flavoring and a nice mild banana flavor in the back. Aftertaste contained a strong bubblegum component to it.

Medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. Overall very smooth and drinkable.

Maybe not my favorite weizen locally, but certainly a good one.

Arrived with a small cap (unfortunately not the beautiful, billowing head renowned with the style) that left lots of lacing in rings as I drank, atop a hazy yellow that's just on the gold side.

Aroma is an alternating mix of bubblegum, clove and mild banana.

Taste is dominated by the German yeast. There's a fairly potent bubblegum/clove and faint banana through most of the beer, with just the faintest hint of wheat and breadlike malts. Taste sweet through and through, with a hint of something like honey on the finish.

Mouthfeel is smooth until the carbonation on the finish, which gives a nice snap and fizz to the beer. Medium body, doesn't feel too heavy or too light for the style.

Decent brew, drinkable and refreshing this time of year, but maybe not exceptional.

Hazy golden, mostly disappearing creamy head. Aroma is strong banana, with the requesite hefe-weizen clove notes. Very nice. Malt profile has strong crackery wheat, but doesn't have the melanoidin character or the pils sweetness I associate with a weizen. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel, goes down easily. Well balanced, well executed. This should be one of their regulars - it makes me want to go to the Rogue's Roost more often.

Cloudy orange body with a small white head that fades to a cap - could look better. Bubblegum, banana, cloves and citrus in the aroma. This one goes long on the bubblegum flavours, which outlast banana, what and spice before finishing with a bit of light grapefruit. I really like the different layers that are going on here. Medium bodied, with medium carbonation. Quite smooth in the mouth. This is a very solid hefe, and another brew that's impressed me at this pub...I sure wish I could teleport it to Toronto!

Had a meal and a few drinks at Rogues Roost in Halifax, the city's best brewpub IMO.

Appearance: Arrives a very couldy, unfiltered dark gold. Small head diminishes quickly leaving a nice lacey ring.

Aroma: Smoky, yeasty, loads of wheat apparent in the nose, lots of grapefruit and other citrus, clove like aromas.

Taste: A little like burnt wheat, fading quickly to a strong spicy citrus flavour, leaving a grapefruit bitterness tagged with cloves and herbs.

Mouthfeel: Pretty soft for a hefe, medium bodied, good drinkability.

Final Statment: I debated whether to label this a Hefe or an American Pale Wheat Ale. I have a pretty limited experience with hefe's, having only tried half a dozen different ones, but it seemed more in line with a traditional german styled weizen. Regardless, it's the only weizen brewed in the province (as far as I know), and its a damn fine brew.
