Ah the imperial pilsner category, for a 5% pilsner, lulz. Pours amber moreso than yellow or gold, a slight bit more SRM darker color compared to its BMC competitors, actually managed a legit 2/5" white head with respectable retention. Aroma of mild Saaz/noble hop twang with actual pilsner malt I suspect.

Taste was along the lines of an easy going adventure, mouth feel could have been improved with an upped carbonation level but nothing fatal here. Where the carbonation was lacking, was due in part to the heavier than average malt bill for a pilsner. Could have been better with more of a crisp snap to it. Instead you got into a heavier, breadier presence, especially on the back half of the bottle. I thought the Pete's Signature Pilsner (we're not allowed to add it to the database) was the better pilsner from this brewery. Just had more of that missing snap.

So I'm the first to review this, and somehow this is characterized as a double or imperial pilsner? No way. Not even close. A little darker than usual yellow pour. Good clarity. White head in the right amount. Bready aroma.

Decently hoppy, seemed like Saaz hops, nice and tangy yet not uber bitter, slight lemon citrus feel to it. Very docile beer, not heavy, easy to drink. Again, I see no possible way how this could be seen as anything but a standard low abv pilsner.
