Tasted this beer by half-pint at the Oakdale Arms pub in North London, during their mid-November mini-beerfestival.
A: poured by gravity straight from the cask, it comes in a slightly hazy (chill-haze rather) dark straw hue, with a rimmed head of medium-sized bubbles and minimal carbonation.
S: aroma of grapefruit juice upfront, with a mild touch of wild-flower blossom and a hint of vanilla--softly aromatic and hoppy overall~~
T: lightly citrus zesty and softly vanilla at the same time, with a little spicy hint felt at the sides and back of the tongue, like green Saaz or Fuggles hops, with a little bit of sulphury hint as well; after the mid-flavour, a medium-strength bitterness prevails, which is settled, but lingering and turning increasingly dryish towards the end.
M&D: softest on the palate, while being supported by good amount of invisible bubbles~~ light-bodied but full of flavour and a clear structure shown in this small beer. This is a session golden ale/bitter which is very well worth tasting when in absolutely fresh condition like this one-time experience of mine.
