Gotten as a present from BM supermarket at Getxo (Spain). 330 ml bottle pured into a Pilsener glass.
-Pours reddish very dark amber colour with a nice foam head, aprox. 2 mm. Fades away after a while.
-Deep caramel smell.
-Roasted and sweet taste.
-Carbonation can be thoroughly felt. Crispy. I like it though too much can be boring.
I like it. Much better than the average San Miguel. Not the typical Spanish brew.

Cerveza de color ámbar, con una pequeña cabeza blanca. Es de cuerpo ligero y baja carbonatación. Aroma a lúpulo, caramelo y granos. En boca destaca nuevamente el lúpulo y un poco de cereal.

I was glad to find this edition of San Mig in Barcelona. Normally the Spanish San Mig is kind of okay, the Philippines version is bad, this one is however made in Spain even though it's called Manila. And it's quite good!
It says it's extra hopped and you can feel the intensity in its taste, hops of course but also caramel malts that make it taste like a hop-heavy dark lager - which it actually is, but with a quite pleasant, medium body and no significant yeast taste. Although tastes a bot like honey, it is not too sweet, fresh enough due to the hops and the body is light and medium dry enough that it doesn't overwhelm you with malts and sweetness. Feels almost like a honey candy or honeycomb toffee though but the taste is ever so slightly has sweetness to it, and this is what makes it interesting maybe.
I can say that this IS the best San Mig that I had so far!

Can 0,33L, BBD 21/12/2018, poured in pint glass. copper-amber colour with a good head, that doesn't last long.
Aroma is very sweet, honey, earthy tones, resin. definately smell the hops. Tastes sweet in the beginning, lots of sweetness and it is the characteristic malt body of the San Miguel lager beers, and a little bit of that "wet dog" - taste. Finish is not that bitter as I expected. Aroma hops, late hopping - no dry hopping I think. In my opinion the whole beer itself is drinkable, but could be composed better. Feels like San Miguel wants to show and tell the world: " Look we also can throw a lot of more stuff in.. we also can grab special malts and aroma hops, throw it all together and create something special!!". But all in all this reminds me of BECKs in Germany as they also wanted jump on the train and put this Pale Ale / Amber Lager series in the markets about two years ago. (remember? the beers tasted like a ordinary BECKs but a little more "hoppy" or "malty" ...The industry... yes the industry)

Served in a dimpled mug. Pours an amber colour, medium head with good retention and lacing.
Aroma of cerals, malts, a bit of roasted malts and a bit of citrics.
Medium body, dense texture, good carbonation.Malty finish.
Taste of malts, cereals, roasted malts,s ome citrics, bread.
Another try for the commercial brands to make interesting beers and kept the crafts off hte market. And another failure. A correct but boring beer.

Can. From Alcampo. In Teku glass. Playing Oceanhorn. Surprisingly hoppy for a san miguel product, specially in the aromatic side, and drinks fairly easily too. Something seems to be changing in our industrials...
10 March 2017. Bottle. From Hipercor. At lunch, with turkey steaks + fried fries. Fine, but in the canned version the hops seemed fairly more fresh and aromatic. Id rate this as a 3 avg, but Ill leave the rating of the canned version
