Pours a deep but transparent yellow, with ample foam. Smell is strong with grain with a little biscuit. Flavor is sweet, strongly grain and bread. Medium body with slight carbonation combines for a very smooth mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good, highly drinkable Festbeer.

Super clear light amber appearance
Close to medium body with about medium carbonation which all added up to a nice feel.
Aroma is malty, caramel, mild vanilla cake /bread.
Taste is slightly sweet, malt, toasted grain, cereal, and bread.
Overall it was a really good festbier that I would look for again

Brauerei Rittmayer Hallerndorf GMBH& CO. KG "Georg Rittmayer 1422 - FESTBIER"
500 ml can coded "BEST BEFORE: 07/2025". Sampled on 1 November 2024
$59.99 / 24 can case - Costco's Biergarten Collection, Costco, Christiana, DE

Notes via stream of consciousness: A clear deep gold body is capped by a short head of bright white foam. Plenty of bubbles can be seen rising quickly within but the head has already dwindled to just a whispy surface covering and standard collar. There is some nice lacing left behind though. The aroma is limited but offers some sweetish and grainy malt. The taste is much brighter, and follows along with sweet grainy malt that's lightly threaded through with floral hops and balanced by a moderate bitterness. It takes a moment to dry as the malt erodes leaving a little bit of the floral hop character lingering. In the mouth it's medium bodied with a gentle caress of carbonation on the tongue. So this is the beer that they brewed to commemorate their 600 year anniversary? I would have thought they'd have gone for something a little more exciting. On the other hand this is very much like a Weisnbier from München so I get it, it's a little stronger and fuller in flavor and yet you can still drink a few and not get drunk. I appreciate that. I wish it had better head retention and lacing, and I would personally really enjoyed a few more hops in both the flavor and aroma but whatever, it's in balance for what it is and I won't complain.

500ml can from Costco's 2024 Holiday Collection. A Best By date of July 2025 is stamped on the bottom of the can.

Appearance. This good looking Festbier has a sparkling clear, golden body with a good white head.

Clean flavor that, like the aroma, is more malty than hoppy. It improved with some warming.

From the small (0,33l) bottle, it pours a clear golden color with a small white head that soon diminishes to a thin layer, small ring and lacing. The nose gets some roasted malt with notes of caramel. The mouth follows the nose with a sharp taste of malt followed by a caramel malt finish.
