Mf light to light-med bodied w/ fairly high carb

Poured from a can into a pilsner glass.

Look: Thicker, white head. Light yellow color. Very good head retention.

Smell: Light aroma. Cracker. Spice in the background. Honey. A bit sweet.

Taste: Light and refreshing. Floral and maybe a hint of spice. Moderately sweet malt flavor that finishes with a pleasant, mild bitterness.

Feel: Light bodied with a perfect amount of carbonation.

Overall: Great beer. Extremely easy to drink.

Very clear light gold appearance
Close to medium body with just below average carbonation
Aroma is a very pleasing mix of yeast, bread, lemon fruit and peel
Taste is more subdued that aroma but otherwise stays true to aroma.

Pours a dark lemonade color with a large white head. Aroma is kind of neutral. Taste is also pretty neutral except a mild malt and hop and carbonation. A good Helles, but not a great one. BB 6-2026

I am going to review the rest of the German beers. I am using a pokal glass and serving the beer at 44 degrees. Upon opening the beer, an explosion of beer erupted and spilled out. The pour created a frothy, creamy, foamy, two-fingered, white head with excellent retention. The slow dissipation left lacing chunks on the glass. The beer is pale yellow with light straw hues, clear, and has an SRM of 4. The beer's appearance is beautiful.
Nosing the beer, I detect notes of crackers, lightly toasted malts, a light fruity aroma, white pepper, and grassy notes.
The flavors start with crackers, lightly toasted malts, a touch of floral esters, grassy, grainy, white pepper, herbal, and a touch of fruity notes.
The mouthfeel is carbonic, finishing crisp and dry. The body is light and high-carbonated.
Final Thought: A crisp and refreshing Helles. It is an easy sipper after a busy weekend.

Brauerei Gasthof Rittmayer "Georg Rittmayer Hell"
500 ml can "BEST BEFORE 06/2026". Sampled on 29 October 2025
$59.99 / 24 can - Costco's Biergarten Collection, Costco, Christiana, DE

Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a lightly hazy golden body beneath a short head of bright white foam. There are plenty of very tiny bubbles rising within and it appears to have a pretty good carbonation to it. In the nose it's malty, grainy, lightly sweetish, and fruity/floral. The taste follows with the addition of some lemon and herbs. A stiff bitterness balances it and it's dry in the finish with some lemony, herbal, floral, and perhaps even spicy hops lingering atop a dollop of sweetish grainy malt. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp with a very fine-bubbled, seemingly natural, carbonation. The label lists it as "vollmundig" but I don't see that although maybe it is on the upper end of being medium bodied. I think it's really well balanced between malt sweetness and hop bitterness, and grainy malt and hop flavors. It's nicely rounded with everything showing clearly and nothing sticking out further than anything else. Excellent.

Clear light yellow pour, couple fingers of white foam. Nose is malt.

Taste shows light kilned malt, floral, sweet grass, touch pear. Mouthfeel is medium and pleasing. Finish lets the malt wash over you tongue eith a light hop presence.

From the pint can in the 2025 Biergarten Collection from Costco, it pours a clear light yellow-amber color with a modest head that slowly diminishes to a ring and lacing. The nose is lightly malty, the mouth is malty with a light zing and it is well balanced and drinks easily.

Clear golden brew with abundant foam in the Tuborg Pilsner glass. Lovely nose of the brewhouse. Light body with a delightful creamy spritz in the best German tradition. Taste is Cream of Wheat with some notes of fresh bread and a touch of lemon. There is a little bitterness in the aftertaste, a touch of pencil shavings. Overall this is a superior example of the Helles style, in my opinion, and a good reason to try more German beers. From the 500 ml can. "Best Before 07/2026."
