Got this in Maui and I was surpised to find out it was brewed in Portland. By the label and packaging (very clever by the way) I would have assumed it was brewed in the 50th state. I am an avid scuba diver so I enjoyed the two-sided sea turtle label. Anyways, there is not much to say about this beer. It is a nice clear golden color with a caramel malt aroma. The hops are virtually absent. There is a fruity, bread-like taste to the pallete. Obviously, this is by no means a mind blower of a brew, but on a balcony in Maui, it tastes pretty good!

11/21/04- Given to me by a friend while visiting Hawaii.
Appearance- A light golden color pour. The whitest head I have ever seen on a beer. Blinding white. Surprisingly nice lace.
Smell- A sweet grainy taste. I guess it's the malt I smell. No hops IMO.
Taste- A very light tasting beer. Maybe a bit of a nutty taste. Almonds? A bit on the watery side.
Mouthfeel- A bit too much carbonation to go with a watery base. Almost lastes goes down a bit like seltzer water.
Drinkability- Damn, thought it was going to be crap, then saw the pour and got excited, then tasted it and just thought, Hmmmm, an average beer. Nothing special. At least it had a cool bottle.
