This was instantly one of my new, favorite beers. Full disclosure: I am no fan of fruity IPAs- IPAs that use very citrusy hops. This is not one of those. It does not taste like grapefruit or orange juice. It taste like beer, good beer. Color is a touch more amber than the typical IPA. The body is full, and a tad sweet, but very drinkable and very well made. Enjoying this the only way I have seen it, poured into a glass from a 1 pint, 3.2 fl. oz can. A little sticky on the lips from the sweet, but overall a very nice IPA if you don't need your IPAs super dry and super fruity.

Clear gold with three fingers of cream color head that stays around. Rings and curtains of lace.
Smell is pungent floral hops resin bread crust malts.
Taste is resins floral hops some grapefruit and a good malt support.
Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Finish is dry and medium bitter.
Overall a pleasant and well crafted West Coast IPA.

New Way looks actually quite old school. An amber color, maybe even burnt orange, is nearly clear, and capped by an impressive off-white head that has exceptional lacing.

It smells a bit old school too. Wet pine needles and white pepper over an even spicier and meaty like aroma. The color would indicate to me that a good dose of caramel would be present, but I don't detect any.

The taste and feel almost come together as one. Very piney, sappy, resinous, dank. All your classic descriptors. A solid bready base does include some of that caramel, and this finishes off very peppery and spiced.

Again, quite bitter in a very good way. Drier than expected too. The carbonation along with the spiciness give it a tingly feel, almost prickly. My big downer here is the funky sweetness that makes me think of extract homebrews.

Hey, for $2 a 19.2 oz can, I'm good. It's no ground breaker, and certainly won't be stealing any real estate from my more enjoyable IPA's, but I wouldn't say no to more. Pretty good. Cheers.
