Poured room temperature into a pint glass, this shows a slightly hazy dark amber color with a big fluffy oatmeal colored head and plenty of chunks of lacing left behind. The aroma is a curious floral hops with a dominant currant overtone which implies a little bit of over ripeness having cellared for a good 10 months since I brought it back from a Salt Lake City state store last summer. But a quick taste dispells the over ripe theory and it provides a pleasant bright floral hop blended with light sweet bread. It is pretty aqueous but retains a fair feel with some resinous qualities. I get a hint of burnt wood on occasion that provides a nice contrast with the generally light sweetness that first hits home. Medium carbonation. Not a classic hop deal here, but not a bad offering, quite drinkable though there is a slight alcohol note detected. Knowing this has been retired, perhaps I let it sit too long, but still, it wasn't bad. But based on what I tasted, I won't miss this one particularly.

Not sure why this is marked as retired unless this just happened. I purchased a single tonight to try it out.
Pours a medium dark amber color with a 3/4 head that lingers quite a while. Lacing clings to the side of the glass all of the way down.
The smell is mild and is of citrus and flowers, pretty different from the other IPA's I've had
Light bodied with mild carbonation which leads to an average mouthfeel.
Not a bad beer but I think it's below average overall.

12oz single, $1.39 Steve's - University, I swear I do not see this beer in the database which I found odd since the oak-aged version has 100+ reviews. (I didnt even notice it on ratebeer unless i am completely blind)
appearance: pours a clear copper-amber, foamy beige-white head forms with a decent lace left behind...pretty standard IPA appearance
smell: not a whole lot to the aroma...floral citrus hops are somewhat distant but still quite noticeable, toasted malt presence is certainly there, a little musty...
taste: This actually a very well flavoured ipa...hops are not too abrasive but still very pungent...great grapefruit-citrus flavours to it, perhaps a touch of apricot and nectarine as well...little malt balance
mouthfeel: medium body, noticeable bitterness
drinkability: very good
