On draught at McGlinn's in Wenatchee, WA, on of their house brews. Served in a shaker glass, McGlinn's Mountain Ale is a clear bronze with a small eggshell head that leaves heavy lace.

Smell is soft caramel malt with a bit of hoppy spiciness.

Taste is grainy and bitter, with grassy hops on the lingering finish.

Mouthfeel is dry, on the thin side.

Drinkability is not to bad, inoffensive but boring, it could use a richer maltiness to counter the grainy base.

I had a Mountain Ale at McGlinn's Public House in Wenatchee.

Mountain Ale is brewed especially for McGlinn's. Served in a pint glass.

Pours a brown/garnet color and is slightly hazy. Served full to the rim with absolutely no head.

The smell is faint. Roasted grain mostly.

The taste has a little biscuit flavor to it, some malt presence, and a mild bitter finish. It's reasonably well balanced.

Mouthfeel is smooth and fairly full-bodied.

A very drinkable beer but overall average I'm afraid.

This beer is brewed by Pyramid for McGlinn's Public House in Wenatchee WA.

Appearance: hazy amber in color with a very short 1/4" head that quickly fell to a thin surface coating. No discernable lacing develops.

Smell: a very light fruity sweetness is picked up by the nose.

Taste: overall a somewhat watery amber ale. The caramel and ripe fruity sweetness are up front, and there is very little bitterness here.

Mouthfeel: lighter in body than expected. Smooth throughout. Relatively clean aftertaste.

Drinkabililty: very average beer here. Not something I would expect local Wenatchee beer lovers to have more than once to say they tried the namesake with all the other good beers on tap at McGlinn's.
