Grab a Crossed Irons Irish, help a firefighter. Rich from traditional caramelization in the brew kettle, a portion of the proceeds from this ale go to the Terry Farrell Firefighter Fund.

Had a couple of bottles at Grand Junction Airport. Really good aroma and feel. Taste was just OK. Nice average Irish Ale but nothing overly memorable.

On-Tap 12oz. (The Ale House)

Pours a nice clean/clear amberish/brown color, very nice carbonation, with a nice creamy one-finger light tan head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty and slightly hopped. The taste is malty, slightly bitter. Medium body, with a slightly bitter/dry finish. Overall a very nice Irish Red. This brewery is a few blocks from my place, definitely will stop by.

new spring release from kannah creek, who i dont think has been bottling all that long. their take on the irish red, its pretty good, although more than a little generic, the beer is well made and true to style. as much amber as red in color, with a short lived full inch or more of white head. nose is sweeter, grain is prime mover here, with only balancing hops and a nice fleshy middle that has notes of wood and wet earth to it, more complex than i though, but it sort of falls flat on taste. almost has that extract brew sweetness to it, metallic just a little, but other than that about exactly what you would expect from an american made irish red. some welcomed nuttiness so give it some weight, and a pretty quick finish all things considered. not supremely authentic, and not memorable in any way, but a serivicable example of the style, and if you live way out in grand junction where this stuff comes from, you have good reason to slug it down and be proud of it. thank god this brewery exists in the first place!
