Panimoravintola Plevna Koskipanimo

This is a great place on so many levels. Lovely beers from a diverse list of styles, tasty food and very friendly service. The quality of the beers is superb and the decor screams of rural Finland.

Plevna is a truly great brewpub. I live in Virginia in the USA, but married a lovely Finnish girl. The first time I visited Finland in the summer, my wife and I traveled to Tampere for a concert. Prior to the show we went to dinner at Plevna. The beer selection is fantastic for a brewpub. They have European Lagers, a Rauchbeir, a great American style IPA, even a Russian Stout that weighs in at 100 IBU (the brewer assured me it was the highest IBU of any beer in Finland). They also brew hard ciders and distill their own vodka (infused with a veriety of flavors). They have also added a seasonal IPA called Smore (Swedish for butter), it is brewed with Finnish dark rye malt that gives it a great bread like flavor that is countered by copious amounts of American hopps. The food is also very good. I highly recommend their local version of bangers and mash, which replaces the bangers with locally made Tampere Blood Sausage. I have never been to a brew pub with more creative and tasty beers. If you love beer and find yourself in Fennoscandanavia, do not miss this pub!
