Sampled off cask, Volo Cask Days 2006. I have to say this was one surprinsingly great entry. A big kudos to St.Andre, or Doug and Larry directly, this turned out one of the best Harvest Ales I've had. It was thoroughly enjoyed!
Pours a hazy, pastel-tangerine like colour, good blanket of white head. Aroma is immersed in a musty, dried wheat. Also, excellent complimenting hops that, while present and contributing, largely stay in the backdrop. Flavour has similar tones. A good backing of wheat, with blended, light malt notes. Texture has not so much rugged, but certainly grainy. Great character. This would be a mainstay in my fridge every fall time if I could get my hands on it!

An understated IPA, nicely balanced cask brewed first time for Volo Cafe Cask Day 2006. Good aroma and smooth drinking, particularly for those who didn't want the over-the-top bitter casks available. Nicely done, big bubbles and orangey colour.Good cask ale.
