Volo Cask Days 2008.
A: Copper with an off-white head, some retention & lacing.
S: Marmalade, toffee, caramel & nuts.
T: American hop flavour upfront, mostly tangerine; nuts; toffee; biscuity malt; modest bitterness. A light, non-descript spicing. The malt seemed similar to their Vienna lager, but this was definitely an ale, with some good American hop flavour. A rather eclectic mix that left my taste buds puzzled.
M: Moderate body is smooth & almost creamy.
D: Good drinkability.

Clear winner in first 24 casks offered at Volo ask Fest 2008. Cloudy grapefruit with bubbly head. Spicey finish, with cinammon, clove, allspice, and ginger. Medium mouthfeel. Hoppy aroma. Made using ceramic equipment, as opposed to his normal contract brews.
