Agadir 30/12 2017. 33 cl bottle from CarreFour. The very mysterious basement boutique separated from the rest of the Supermarket. I nearly missed it but noticed a very big bottle stranding next to the basement stairs. Simple white label with "Flag" in red gothic-style letters. Looks like something made up by a 12 year old.

Pours clear pale yellow with small white head. Settles as lonely patch of foam. No lacing.

Aroma has malty sweetness and some sourish bitter notes. A little metallic.

Strong prickling carbonation and watery palate.

Flavor is not overwhelmingly sweet like many Morrocan Lagers. Pretty neutral - on the verge of not having a flavor. A little saltiness and light bitterness.

Tongue out the window - but not too bad when you are really thirsty.

Sampled in Agadir, Morocco:

Clear, light straw looking beer that has a thin bubble like head, bone white in colour.

Skunky grain & some vegetable adjuncts are what I get from this beer initially. There is a little bit of corn & your usual macro pale lager aroma which is faint to sweet overall.

A skunky taste blended with some corn & various cheap adjuncts such as grain & corn. Very little going on here.

Another very light bodied beer that is smooth for the most part with a little bit of grain sneaking in towards the end. It is slightly dry in the finish but somewhat refreshing.

A standard macro pale lager that is definitely nothing special & wouldn't deserve another tasting anywhere else in the world although in Morocco that isn't the case. It is better than the Flag Spéciale version.
