Presented as a "maltier, less hoppy IPA interpretation." I wondered if this meant an IPA made bland so as not to offend mega-brewery dulled tastes? The beer did have a solid malt presence, with enough hops to get the job done, but the 6% abv was too prominent in the taste, lending a raw alcohol note but without any accompanying spicyness, and this ultimately detracted from what might otherwise have been a pretty good beer.
