First off, right when you walk into this store there is a large sign over the drinks that says "Beers and Ales." Nice touch. I like that. It makes me think that they have an above average selection for a gracery chain. I scan the brews...mmmm...better than most groceries, but not great. They do carry a fair amount, mind you, but you can find most of these, if not all, at other brew stores. The Harris Teeter on Cloverdale has a much better selection. I see some of the usual SA, Sierra Nevada, Saranac, Redhook, Magic Hat, Natty Greene's, Leinenkugel's etc. They had some DFH 60 min, which was cool, as well as Bell's Two-Hearted, which was surprising. One shining moment of my stop, was when I looked towards the back of the rack, tucked behind most of the other Leinie's, was their limited release, "1888 Bock!" I haven't seen this anywhere else in town, and after reading the big thread on this release a few months ago, I was interested in trying it. So my stop was worth it.

Not a bad place to pick up some brews while shopping.

Well I found some stuff I'll drink...Long Hammer and a bottle of Chimay but there is not much else. That new Budweiser American Ale was here, but I still have yet to take a stab at it!
The prices were pretty good, there was no service...but after all its just a Harris Teeter. All and All pretty good, the selection won't change till the people in W-S learn what beer is....and I think that day is coming!
Untill that day if you are looking for all the normal stuff you can get anywhere, and want to grab some groceries while you are out this is a great place to get that done.

A decent amount of macros in this place, but wow does it have a nice micro selection for a grocery store. The three Chimays, Rogue Impy Stout, Sam Adams Double Bock, Paulaner Salvator, Old Foghorn, Victory Prima Pils and Golden Monkey, Unibroue Trois Pistoles, Maudite, Fin du Monde. Lots of Flying Dog, DFH 60 min, some Highland brews, Duck Rabbit, Sammy Smith, Rogue Dead Guy and Hazelnut, Shiner, etc etc.

You get the point... nice selection for a grocer.

There was really no service to speak of, but I didn't expect there to be.

Some great deals can be found if you just take a look... probably the best prices in Winston Salem.

Virginia grocery store with a decent beer selection.

The regular brands that you'd expect are here: Samuel Adams, Sierra Nevada, Guiness, Red Hook, Shiner, Newcastle, Sapporo, Hoegaarden, etc. Just the big boys, pretty much. There was one or two local NC brews offered as well.

It seems if you have a special "Harris Teeter card" that you can get discounts on selected brews. I didnt have one, so I had to pay 50 cents more for my 6 pack of Samuel Adams double bock. Oh well.

The best thing about this place is that they're open 24 hrs. So, if its late at night, this is pretty much one of your only choices for decent beer in Winston-Salem.

Okay enough, but definitely go to one of the higher-ranked places (if it is daytime) in Winston-Salem.

This store was slowly improving, adding one or two craft beers every so often; but since the law has changed their selection has taken off. They have everything from your standard Saranac to Victory Golden Monkey to Rogue XS Old Crusty to the Chimay line to Anchor Old Foghorn and many more. They may have to add shelves as they are currently stocked to the gills with choices. The beer manager there was telling me they are selling an amazing amount of craft beer and was really surprised by how much they've been selling since the law changed.

Quality: Would rate better, but half of their stock is macros. But it is a grocery store. But the selection they do have is really quality. Could have more local choices. To be able to go in and choose from Brooklyn, Maredsous, Victory, Rogue, Highland, Duck Rabbit, Chimay, Sam Smith, Flying Dog, and many more is great.

Service: It's a grocery store, so unless the Beer Manager David Ashley is there, don't expect anything.

Selection: Very good, but some brands are limited to one style. The selection only really suffers due to the fact that craft beers are contained to half of one side of an aisle. Still very easy to walk away happy.

Value: Some of the best prices in town. Very convenient.

Good store that is only getting better. Hopefully we will start seeing the craft beers taking more and more macro shelf space.
