Brewed once, so far, at this brewery. Barrel aged in oak bourbon barrels. Served on tap & limited bottles.
Poured into a snifter from a 22 oz bottle.
A - Pours a deep dark murky brown almost coffee black. Small rich tan colored head with tiny bubbles. Looks very nice.
S - Smells of oak wood, smoke, raisins, and bourbon.
T - Nice smoky, woody flavors. Sweet fruity raisin or date like flavors. Boozy/bourbon finish. Hints of vanilla as well. The dark fruit sweetness really plays with the oak flavors well. Tastes great.
M - Silky smooth, perfectly carbonated for the style IMHO.
D - Sipping this on a hot summer night with no problem.
Kudos to Steve for brewing this style of beer & aging it in a bourbon barrel. Probably not what the typical Firehouse patron would order or be looking for. Ask at the bar if there are any "specials" on tap.
