Had on tap at the Barley Pub in Dover NH. Medium amber in color when served, no head. Nice pleasant malty aroma. Taste delivers caramel and nice malty sweetness. Not sure of the abv, but my notes don't indicate that I noticed it at all. A decent version.

Was spelled "Double Boch" on the tap handle, so... C'mon down...
Has a clear, deep copper color, like Salvator.... not too dark like some DBocks... Lots of bubbles active within the liquid. Head is short, creamy, tan and fine, with ok lacing as well. Nose starts malty and nice, but then some sort of metallic odor hits the fan. What the...? Body is medium, and it's still fairly smooth across the tongue. Great flavor start, with plenty of malty sweetness....caramel and light toffee are cool... then that metallic aspect from the aroma comes into play in the flavor as well. Too bad, as the first half of the sip is a-ok, then that odd taste brings things down. Alewife and artied2 thought something was amiss here too. I won't completely diss this bier, giving it some room for future redemption, but this time it didn't quite cut it.
