Formerly "Sully's Imperial Stout".
Our Imperial Stout blends coffee and chocolate flavors with a smooth, creamy finish that warms as you sip this 8.5% ABV dark beer. Gently hopped with English and American hops to balance the sweet stout character. "The Imp" cleverly hides its heft behind the Wall. Enjoy with a decadent dessert or as a dessert itself. Cheers!
Malt: Maris Otter, Crystal, Chocolate, Roasted Barley and Coffee Malt
Hops: Northern Brewer, East Kent Goldings and Cascade

Not a local brewery that normally impresses me, but this is a fine Imperial Stout. Poured into a 16 oz tulip glass not sure when it was canned. Pours near pitch black with a finger plus sticky light brown head, that leaves streaks of lace with excellent retention. 4.5
Aroma roasty coffee, cocoa nibs, toffee, and vanilla beans. 4.5
Taste follows coffee, chocolate, toffee, caramel, and vanilla pretty aggressively hopped like say Yeti or Smuttynose RIS back in the day. 4.5
Mouthfeel is above average, maybe a touch dry, gentle carbonation but it works great, and at 8.5% it drinks bigger, but still very approachable. 4.5
Overall this one really surprises me, because I feel like I am drinking Great Divide Yeti. I am very impressed and I think it is like $12 a 4 rack. Getting more soon. 4.5

From the 16 oz. can with no noticeable date. Sampled December 6, 2019. It has returned from retirement.
The appearance is dark brown to jet b lack and there is a small tan colored head that settles quickly.
The first whiff brings out roasted coffee. The second whiff introduces a more sweet chocolate character with a floral hop note under that. No booze.
Smooth full body.
It is sweet and roasty at first but there is more of a floral bitterness than I expected that kind of sets it off. But one cannot argue with a style like this.

Having a shaker pint at Stark Brewing/Millys right now, costing me $8.50.
It's an opaque, deep, dark brown color, with a thin, fine , dark tan head. Lacing is present yet light. Aroma has a lot of roasty malts and coffee, with some chocolate tossed in. It is quite smooth, and a touch above medium in body. Solid, but this style should be fuller and chewy.
Taste has lots (LOTS!) of dark choco! Wow! Also has roasty action, a hint of toffee and vanilla, some dry cocoa, and a smidge of mocha. There is a subtle bit of floral hopping at the finish, which lingers nicely on the palate. Solid, warming and quite tasty! Prosit!!
