Having previously had the nit wit that this is based off, I was very curious how the chardonay barrel aging would effect this brew. Lunch and a beer later - it's good!

A - Wonderful hazy brownish staw colored brew. A bit darker than the nit wit was. Nice white head.

S - Initial hints of chardonay with underlying notes of oak, citrus and spice..

T - This brew is fascinating! Chardonay grapes dominate. undertones of Citrusy lemon, spicy fruit complementary belgian yeast. The oak hints in the aroma did not seem apparent in the brew. That's ok in my book, the flavor melds nicely in the mouth.

M - Between a light and medium bodied brew. Just enough body to balance out the wonderful flavors.

D - Very tasty and easy to drink. On the list for repeats next trip.

Had at Belgian Beer festival. Notes say this is a Belgian style witbeer aged in French Chardonnay Oak. Poured out a cloudy caramel color with a nice white head that lasted a minute or two. Had some fruityness and Belgian yeast spice to the nose, didn't pick up the oak. The taste was very straightforward, some malt, a little spice, and a bit of funkyness that I guess cmae from the oak. Not much carbonation, finished a bit chunky.
