We recently found a 1/2-barrel of this out back in our beer cave..... So we have it on tap right now. Date says 2020 on the barrel.... Brought home a growler of it after a couple of samples at the brewery.....
Color is a rich, deep copper hue, with a touch of cloudiness present. It's light on internal carbo, and the head is off-white, thin and fine, with solid lacing. Aroma is rindy and pithy, with a hint of malty sweetness plus a touch of bourbon. Very smooth on the tongue, with a medium to medium-plus body.
Flavor has some semi-sweet, toasty caramel malts leading off. Has great citrus and piney, resiny hoppage. Bourbon is quite present throughout the downing of the beverage. It's very balanced, though the hoppy bitterness is still somewhat present, with the bourbon finishing things off. Damn tasty! Nice find back in the cave..... Get it while ya can.... Prosit!!!
