This beer was being offered at the brewpub for $1 on this occasion. It was served with a lemon wedge, as is typical for hefeweizens in the USA, but the flavor and aroma were not typical of a hefeweizen at all. Perhaps it was intended to be another style of wheat ale?
This beer was a cloudy golden color with white foam that left some lace on the glass. The smell was very modest wheat (practically no fruity ester aromas at all). The taste was a bit sour, with some wheat flavor. The body was moderate with moderate to weak carbonation. The drinkability was OK, and a lemon wedge actually improved the drinkability, but this beer was thin on taste, and the sourness was not good.
