The S.F. Brew Co signature beer, named appropriately after the ringneck pheasant, this is a very popular beer. Pours a clear read, with a vaporating head, gives way to some fizzy carbonation. The smell of caramel and roasted malts are noticeable, barely. Nice taste of the roasted malts right on top, followed with a crisp oak and chocolate finish. Quite smooth, medium bodied, a great red ale.

This is one of the best red ales I have tried. Bitter caramel aromas lead to a heavier creamy body and sweet caramel/bitter lightly roasted chocolate flavors. Such a complex and flavorful beer.
