I live right around the corner from The Stone Tavern and wind up there at least once a week. I enjoy the place a lot and have become friendly with a majority of the staff there, including the newest set of owners. Rumor has it that they are going to start brewing again and completely revamp their menu, which it is in dire need of.
Beer...I find it a great shame that the the equipment is sitting in the back of the building in an idle state. Next time I am in there, I am going to inquire about it. Their current beer selection is marginal...your standard beers, Bud, Bud Light, Bass, Saranac Pale Ale (my current Stone Tavern Beer), etc. Would be nice to see them step it up a notch to some higher end stuff.
Food...In need of a change. Their burgers and salads are very good...but they are lacking in the sandwich and bar munchie areas. The owner has told me that they are changing. We will see.
Atmosphere. A little old and stodgie in the sit down area. The bar...it's a bar and they have some very good bartenders with personality. In need of a ventilation system though.
I do recommend visiting though.

Still not brewing at this time. The last time I was there about a year ago (and my ratings are from then), their beer was ok, food was decent and the historic building made it a nice place to have a few. I registered my disappontment about their discontinuation of brewing (they said it was on hiatus but may be back) and left without having anything. Hopefully, they will get back to brewing
