Brewed with yeast from Southern Germany, this unfiltered, medium bodied beer has a delicate clove and banana flavor and finishes with moderate alcohol warmth.

This beer leans a tad in the direction of a Dunkel Weizenbock, but who cares when it's this tasty? The color is well into the amber range and the flavor includes a bit of caramel and molasses sweetness. Other than that, the requisite weizen features are there - the wheat effects, the fruity esters, and the banana/bubble gum/clove notes in the aroma and flavor. The ABV was not indicated, but it certainly has more bang than a light summery weizen. Medium bodied, with moderate carbonation.

I had a taster of this beer, was quite pleased, but instead ordered the barley wine on tap (barley wine is my thing). When I had finished the barley wine, I went ahead and ordered a pint of the Weizenbock, confident that it had the goods to follow. It did. It still tasted great. That's pretty impressive. Another dandy beer from Square One.
