It comes served in a narrow mouthed tulip glass. Thin filmy lace swirls around the surface. Color is a dense purplish black.
Smell is a sweet mix of burnt raisins, figs, a little brown sugar, all swirled together with a boozy finish. This is potent. Taste is equally sweet, where the burnt raisins comes out on top.
Mouthfeel is thick and chewy, almost like a syrup. Carbonation is almost nonexistent, though that is perfectly OK for a big beer on cask.

Geez Louise, wished I'd have asked about the abv before ordering my first beer, and on an empty stomach.
Anyway, this lil' jewel comes out, black with brown edges in the snifter glass, small but sturdy tan head resting on top. One sniff of the malty bourbon and I knew it was party time.
And a party it was, with this malty oak barrel bourbon tasting brew, joined by a chorus of fig, plum, raison and a dash of cinnamon. For sure a sipper, with the cask low attenuation and cellar temp, , I enjoyed this one for the long haul (for me) as the alcohol was not noticable. The good time lasted ½ an hour, then it was off for the next race.
