Consumed 5/27 at Square One Brewing
Served in a pint glass
A: This beer pours an opaque black with a one finger of frothy light brown head. Head recedes quickly leaving sheets of lacing.
S: Nose is oatmeal, roasted malts and a touch metallic. Hmmm...
T: Taste is a massive dose of honey in the forefront with a bit of fleeting coffee flavoring. Huge burnt malts come through with another heaping dose of honey and a bit of vanilla.
M: Lighter side of medium body, medium carbonation, light and slightly prickly on the tongue.
O: Goes down ok, somewhat tasty, not too filling, mild kick, interesting take on the style. I appreciate what Square One tried to do, but the honey is just overdone. By the time I finished the pint it wasn't as noticeable, but I don't think that I would order another pint of this one.
