Appearance is dark and velvety smooth with little head. Nothing special about the odor but pleasant. Nicely chilled and served. Slightly bitter at first but no aftertaste. It tastes wonderful. Overall a great Irish Brew... ...Leaves you wanting more.

From a growler that me mate Rick brought home, a clear see thru brown like hard candy hue with a soft looking off white head cap.

Scents are a bit harsh like burnt sugar.

Flat cola feel and smokey flavor. Props for not being overly roasted, but watery and thin flavor and dimension.

This is a harsh drink.

Last swigs: One of three growler offering that I have (One of which is so off putting that I decided not to review it) Average at a generous best. Other than that, blah! Save your tongue. This is headed straight for future pee, nothing else.

Beer is good, happy beering.

Poured a deep and clear dark brown color. I mean a very dark brown that’s close to becoming black. A creamy tan head floats on top of the glass and laces it nicely. The aroma is off style, but that’s ok, with fruits (apples) and lightly roasted sweet grains. The taste is mediocre. The weak malt presence and light flavor really hasn’t enough “oomph” to fire up the taste buds. This one lacks that definitive crisp and bitter roastiness of the traditional dry stout. Come on, man! Are they cutting back on the grain bill trying to save money? Or watering their beers down? It sure seems like it. This was my final beer of the day and I have to throw this one in the “no balls” box with the rest of their beers. Come on guy, step it up!!

Actually, this wasn’t that bad - light, thin and watered down, but not terrible. Someone get me a good brew... life's too short for this kind of beer.
