Murray's Angry Man Pale Ale is a unique mix of classic UK and US pale ale styles. The best of British and German malts balances the huge citrus hop aroma and flavour strongly influenced by generous use of New Zealand-grown Motueka and Pacifica hops. A brilliant light-golden colour, Murray's Angry Man Pale Ale has a full-bodied finish and complex character. This is well balanced with biscuity/toffee flavours from selected caramalts.

330ml beer bottle given by a supplier into 350ml beer glass.
Very slightly cloudy pale orange with 1 finger of head which died immediately.
Nose is a little floral with some tropical fruit. OK, but nit overly complex.
Palate is quite nice. Good malts coming through with a n ice tropical fruit flavour. Some bitterness on the finish. Quite nice. Overly carbonated.
Despite the high level of carbonation mouth is ok. Medium body.
Quitr refreshing with all the fruitiness but a fairly one dimensional beer. Just lots of fruit hoppiness. Typical of the 'craft' beer scene.
Recommended for fans of the style or anyone interested in tasting a half-descent Australian beer.

Had on draft in Melbourne "The Mill House" looked great, nose less than expected, initial mouth feel was good but it ended with a twang, some sort of imperfection I could not put my finger on.

My brother had this in his luggage when he visited in August. My first taste of Aussie Craft beer. Not the greatest beer around but it's good to see that my home country is joining the craft beer family, better than the crap I drank in my 20's.

I had a 330ml bottle. These came via delivery from Beerbud (as did prior review I did on Whale Ale - read on).
Appearance : good clear and clean golden colour. Good white head and nice lacing remains.
Aroma: mild citrus hops but not nearly as much as the blurb on their website suggests or the anticipation set you up for. A little underwhelming for pale given most reasonable Aussie craft pale ales these days offer more hop aroma. The last Murray's beer had the same concern, very light in hop aroma when much more was expected. I thought that I might have an older batch. This could be the same situation. In fact there is no "best before date" on either bottle despite there is a specific section to print that on the label.
Flavour: this is where the rubber hits the road for this beer. Excellent dry mouthfeel and bitterness to support. Not as stringent as an IPA but this has bitterness from the front to the back of the palate and quality "beer" taste of former days gone by like a bitter on tap. There is some slight metallic taste on the finish despite pouring from a bottle. I cannot account for that.
Overall: I'd say this is going to be more of a blokes pale ale. Don't expect fragrant hoppy aroma, enjoy the gutsy bitterness and dry finish.

From bottle, Pours golden color with a minimal head. Faint citrusy aroma. malt body is rather thin with a rather long lasting, bitter finish. It's ok.

Pours a cloudy brown-yellow, almost green tinged. Head is white, huge, fairly fluffy with visible bubbles. Great retention, lace a bit thin. Bit stodgy looking and head too big but OK.
Smells fruity and inviting. Passionfruit, mango and a touch of citrus. Stewed pear and lemon meringue aroma, mild touch of spice. Ginger definitely, as well. Very enjoyable, nice bonuses around the edges.
Taste is also fruity, a lot lighter. Tangy citrus notes get oddly chocolatey midway with lots of toffee and caramel malt. Notes of vanilla and then some mild roast on the back. Stewed pears, nice melange of spices. Bit light on the palate and bit light on the body. Pleasant desserty-style fruit flavour, but yeah could use a fair bit more oomph.
Decent texture but a bit light on again.
Nice brew, actually goes down quite nicely on a cold wintry night, for a pale beer.
