On tap at Rowland's Calumet in Chilton, WI.
Dark orangish gold color, bright clarity, with a lasting head of off white foam.
Malty aroma, smooth with a slight buttery note.
Buttery notes in the flavor of diacetyl, which was present in several other beers in the sampler unfortunately. It was less so in this beer, but still there. Caramel toffee and a light bitterness, slight twinge of alcohol heat as well. Medium bodied, fairly smooth, thicker than the rest due to higher gravity. Not sure if this was an ale or a "blond doppelbock" variation to be honest, but it was one of the more interesting options available during our visit to the brewpub.
