A growler from the source sipped from a a pint glass. Its actually called 90-W-40, but no big deal.
Dark, cloudy brown with a small heads that doesn't show much retention and leaves spotty lace.
The nose has a lot of drak roasty malt aromas that have a slight nuttiness. Gives me the impression of a big brown ale. Slightly phenolic with some ghostly hops in the back.
The taste follows the nose. Very brown ale like but with much more malt. The nuts are there and the hops are more noticable as the lend pleasant bitterness. Warming finish with lingering malt flavors tempered a bit by the hops. Kind of like a nice english BW.
The mouth is a bit thin, but this is to be expected a little from a growler. This is a very good and warming beer. Perfect for a cold night. I sipped the growler until it was empty.

An old ale brought back in their aged series. OK carbonation, some darkness in colour, bit of head and lace. Lots of grapefruit and malt in this one and most interesting. The clear winner in tonight's lineup. Like Marsala Mamma mixed with a cask version of cumudgeon.
