Larnaka 15/7 2017. 50 cl can from Smart Supermarket. Another Greek beer masquerading as German under the guise "Produced in EU". Very Germanic can with crowns, griffons and golden crowns.

Pours clear pale yellow with small bubbly white head. Head Disappears quite fast leaving what looks like a good night urine sample. No Lacing.

Aroma is weak. Sweet malts, grains and slightly chemical sourness.

Low carbonation and slightly thick palate.

Flavor has ok balance. Medium sweetness followed by slightly weaker bitterness. Aftertaste is lightly bitter.

I do not think it tastes especially German - but it could go for one of the Germans you buy in a plastic bottle from a Penny Market. Quite alike to many South European Pale Lagers you can buy in Larnaka.

A: Pale Golden, average head, poor retention, a little lacing...typical lager carbonation

S: Smell??? What smell, struggling to get maybe some grain / touch skunky...very weak

T: Little sweet, grainy flavours, doughy...the taste was a definate improvement on smell. Just a smidgeon of bitterness (if any).

M: Medium, not too watery, quite smooth in feel & carbonation.

D: Out of a can this was quite enjoyable...had more taste & body than expected, sort of reminded me of a Pilsner.
