Odd amber color and flat-looking, maltier than other adjunct lagers I've had. Probably not that fresh, so I rated it a little higher than I felt about it.

This beer is a very clear yellow-gold color. A completely white head almost reaches one finger and shows pretty good retention. When it does fall, it leaves some clinging to the edges. A little lacing manages to stick around in spots.
The smell is all grass, must , grains and leaf, some definite sulfuric notes. There's not a whole lot to say.
In the flavor, a little sweetness comes out with the grains, but otherwise it's just as leafy and grassy, and herbal over all of it.
Light-bodied and a little bit slick, there is a stiff crispness from front to middle in every sip, though it flattens a little into a dryer herbal finish.

Poured from a brown 11 oz. bottle. Has a rich golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some grains and malts. Taste is crisp, grains, corn, a bit of an off flavor in the after taste. Not horrible, but not to my liking. Feels light in the mouth and overall is about your standard, run of the mill AAL.

A - Pours a fluffy white head of about half an inch. About the same color and carbonation as ginger ale, and the head's gone just as fast. No lacing. I mean, it really really looks like ginger ale, or some kind of soda.

S - Is that... paint thinner? With some notes of cough syrup. Yuck.

T - There's the typical lager flavor, but with an almost fake grape flavor or Robitussin. It's actually kind of hard to choke down at times.

M - Watery, with an odd boozy finish. Surprising, considering the relatively low ABV.

O - I've had worse, but not many.

Some say lager is lager. Not Marathon. Marathon is special. This beer is a pretty pretty pretty gurrrl. Nice foam head. Nothing shocking, but a good head. The taste is real sweet. Beats many English ales for my money. Provided you like a little sweetness in the beer, then this is the beer for you.

If you are a fan of Greek soccer then it will make the match against Germany easier to swallow.

Drinks really nice. Easy on the carbonation. I think Marathon goes down well with music of Italian pianist Giorgi Gaslini 'Plays Sun Ra.'
