An American Amber Ale is on the border between a Pale Ale and a Brown Ale, with a touch of the complex roasted flavor from caramel malt, with a nice amber color. The good malt character, and with the small edge of malt sweetness which is fantastic for the slightly burnt that is on the grilled food. It has a balanced bitterness from the hops which provides a counterpoint to the malt sweetness, and mosaic gives a fresh aroma of tropical fruit.

Copenhagen 8/6 2021. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Skands’ usual design in orange with two empty wooden garden chairs under an exotic parasol on the label.
Pours almost clear amber with a big white head. Fluffy and stable. Settles as 3 cm thick blanket of foam covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Massive lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet and a bit candy-like odor mingling with toasted notes. Caramel, toffee. Hints of brown sugar. Plywood. Lightly roasted malts.
Light carbonation. Thin, oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a modest sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish. Lingers for a bit. Finish is sweetish and sloppy.
A tad too sweet and flat for my taste buds. But it does look pretty good.
