NEW YEAR 2022 was a Berliner Weisse with raspberries - a mix of light acidity, sweetness and with full-bodied bubbly sparkling berry notes.
Based on a classic Berliner Weisse, we have adjusted the flavor profile at Bryggeriet Skands, giving it a better balance between the sweet and the sour.
The beer also has a light hop bitterness and finishes with a slightly dry mouthfeel. Berliner Weisse was called the Champagne of the North by Napoleon's soldiers.
Drink as an aperitif, light appetizer, sushi and just because you want something extra sour and fresh for your palate.

Copenhagen 1/1 2022. 50 cl clear glass bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. Silver version of Skands' usual label design formedasa a rhombus with rounded corners.
Pours clear pink with a bubbly white head. Settles thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sugared sweet odor mingling with malty scents. Sweet pale malts, cardboard and grains. White sugar.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong sourness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a light tart underone. A bit thin. Lingers for a bit. Finish is watery.
Not exactly Champagne-like. But sweetish and a bit thin.
