The label stated that this brew is Specially made for club sandwiches and home-made hamberugers., so I had it with some minced meat, bread and sauces. To anticipate, the match was perfect.
The colour is orange-yellow; the liquid is somewhat hazy (this beer is bottle conditioned). The large white compact head sinks slowly down to a firm finger thick head, leaving lots of lacing.
The smell reveals the blend of styles: It is as much a German Pilsner as a Wit (without the spices): Refreshingly sour with some yeast, a crisp bitterness and quite a lot of malt.
The taste is fresh, clean and balanced. Notes of malt and fruity hops are blended with sourish wheat. The aftertaste is sour with a growing crisp bitterness.
The carbonation is large and loch with lots of small bubbles. The liquid is smooth.
The Danes at Gourmetbryggeriet makes the job as a BeerFly Guide quite hard: Almost all of their beers are style crossovers, like this one: Half unspiced Wit and half German pils? Well, I dont think that I have had a beer that suits fat food better!
