Copenhagen 27/11 2015. 75 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. As "Jul Belgisk Øl". A twelve pronged star on a red background with ice crystals on the label.
Pours clear dark reddish brown with an off-white head. Stable. Settles as a thin layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is sweetish with sugary notes, yeast, spices and a little orange. A little tart frutiness as well. Some boozy notes of alcohol.
Medium strong carbonation and oily palate. Lightly tinting texture.
Flavor is only lightly sweet. Malty and yeasty. Aftertaste is tart and a little acidic but pleasant enough to drink. The high alcohol content is not very distinct.
I could easily find a worse way to spend Christmas.
