In the new Julehygge Ale from GORUMETBRYGGERIET, we have combined barley malt with wheat, caramel and chocolate malt, which gives a perfect aroma and color. The hops complement both aroma and bitterness. The roasted, warm notes from the malts are given depth by the brown sugar and orange peel - and nutmeg completes the atmosphere of Christmas in the beer. Julehygge Ale is a good companion to the browned duck, roast pork and red cabbage.

Copenhagen 18/11 2020. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Gourmetbryggeriet's new design with a text heavy label including a lot advertisement for the beer at hand. Red and golden stripe across.
Pours unclear, copper brown with a small white head. Settles as thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet sugary odor mingling with spices and citric scents. Brown sugar, caramel, sweet toasted malts. Cinnamon and nutmeg. Citrus and oranges.
Fairly strong carbonation. Thin, oily, tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a bitter, spicy undercurrent. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry.
Pretty sweet Christmas beer which does manage to be drinkable due to the hard carbonation and the added flavoring with oranges.
