Æbleskive Ale from GOURMETBRYGGERIET is brewed with inspiration from a classic æbleskive recipe. The beer has four different malt types and together with vanilla, cardamom and honey, this tasty Christmas ale with an æbleskive expression is created. Æbleskive Ale is a good companion to the traditional dishes of the Christmas table. Try it with Christmas æbleskive too.

Copenhagen 6/11 2020. 37,5 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled torv, Kbh NV. Another feature in Harboes Nordic Passion brand. The usual design in light brown. A quote from a Christmas story to ensure that everybody understand this is a Christmas beer loaded with Christmas Spices.
Pours slightly unclear amber with a small white head. Settles as thin, flimsy patch of foam unable to cover much of anything. No lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet spicy odor and malty fumes. Sweet malts. Caramel and toffee. Cardamom and hints of ginger. White sugar and syrup.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, oily, tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a very moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and a bit watery. Lingers shortly. Finish is sweetly spicy.
Funny concept but too thin and watery to be a decent pastry beer.
