Sort Ale is a full-bodied, complex beer with a strong flavour with notes of dark chocolate and roasted malts, which gives the beer a sweet, slightly bitter and long aftertaste. The beer is strong and tasty and is well suited to spicy roasts and game dishes. Recommended temperature for best enjoyment 8-9°C

Copenhagen 22/5 2015. 75 cl bottle from Rema 1000, Frederikssundsvej, Kbh. NV shared with my father in law. Label is black and brown with golden writing signalling that this is indeed a very black beer with a high alcohol content.
Pours dark brown - not black - with a beige head. Bubbly. Head disappears almost immediately. Looks like a glass of Coca Cola after this. No lacing.
Aroma is sugary mixed with alcohol and a little yeasty. Brown sugar and caramel. Damp cellar. Metallic alcohol.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is very sweet. The brown sugar kicking through. Modest bitterness. The high alcohol content is very pronounced in the aftertaste.
Too sugar sweet by far for my taste. Just because it looks like a cola it does not have to be just as sweet.
