The tenth, and the very last, real ale tasted by half-pint at the Catford Beerfest., 08/06/06. Gravity-dispensed.
A: nearly black, coming with no beer head and a low carbonated body.
S: deeply fruity (ripe berry-fruits and even red grapes) upfront, on top of an assertive roasted-nutty (more than roasted-malty) aroma. Rather simplistic, but solid.
T: a lightly fruity (with a slightly vinous flavour and texture) maltiness serves as the platform for a wave of roastiness to flow freely on the top, along with which a dryish bitterness (typical of a stout) expands towards the end of the palate, where semi-aromatic, almondy+walnutty nuttiness gradually fades in to bring about a semi-dry yet aromatic roasted aroma surrounding the mouth... lovely aftertone.
M&D: medium-bodied and smooth on the texture, showing a healthy balance b/w roastiness and aromatic dark malts. A rather "nutty" stout with good quaffability~~
