Amber color . Big , off-white head. Citrus, coffee and malt in aroma. Light coffee notes are everywhere in taste, although not overwhelming, and balanced by hops . Sharp bitterness from the start to the end. Interesting brew.

Amber color and clear. Modest head with a couple of streaks and spots for lace.
I smell ash and coffee grounds.
Very strong coffee flavors of which I'm not a fan. So, if you like coffee, this might be the beer for you regardless of my rating.

On-tap 3/18/2017 at Battleship Brewhouse in Fall River, MA, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a dark golden brown color, with a large off-white head that fades very slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains coffee, caramelized malts, some citrus and some hops.
T: The taste likewise starts out with a strong coffee flavor followed by some sweet flavors of caramelized malts and citrus. Then some breadiness comes in from a hearty malt character. The hops presence is over-powered by the coffee but it provides a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.
M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, good kick, decent variation of style, this is a decent IPA to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for the coffee flavor but don’t want a porter or stout.

Draught @ The Foundry: This one pours a hazy amber color. There was about a finger of an off white head. Nice aroma. Definitely a whiff of the coffee. Citrus and pine hops also. The taste is good. Citrus and piney hops, balanced with coffee notes. Surprisingly this works!!

I would never willingly order an ipa with coffee in it...I guess I'm just set in my ways. I didn't read the description fully, and my first sip was a revelation. This beer is brewed with coffee, and son of a gun, it's delicious. On tap in a tulip glass. Smooth, smokey maybe? The hops and coffee are a bizarrely complimentary. My new bloody mary or night cap: Well done, oh, Captain, my Captain.

Pours a cloudy amber with a finger of off white head. Spotty lace on glass and a lasting ring after a few minutes.
Medium strength aroma of citrus pith, deep pine bitter, light notes of coffee, and caramel sweet.
Full flavored taste follows the nose, but both the caramel and coffee are stronger players in the sip, and the citrus pith and pine end things with huge, almost puckering, bitter.
Med. carb., medium viscosity, finish that is a bit too harsh, and a linger that builds on palate unpleasantly.
Lots of clashing flavors in this one. Not recommended

Solid two fingers of cream white foam, large amount of bigger bubbles interspersed across the surface, retention is slightly below average, albeit the lacing forms nicely thick streaks which stick well. Dark and super hazy liquid, the particulate is extremely fine and clouds the whole glass, brownish orange hue, not many bubbles visible. The nose is heavily influenced by roasted coffee, lots of toast and some cocoa accents, some clean piney hops and fresh leafiness, however, it is marked by an absence of much beyond the coffee, no fruit or even citrus really. Medium-bodied, creamy with a fluffy carbonation, not very different on the palate with the coffee hogging the whole stage. Pine, light grapefruit, peach or apricot pits, a fistful of unprocessed grains. Never sweet and conversely the mouth doesn’t get too dry or tacky. Were this a wine, the middle would be what’s called “hollow.” Even the coffee flavors have mostly disappeared by the finish. Nothing which compels you to consider revisiting it.
