A complex beer with layers of flavors unfolding as this it slides down your throat. Before the introduction of indirect-fired malt kilns, all beers had a smoky flavor. Today only a handful of brewers produce beer reminiscent of those of the past. We use imported German smoked malt to add depth and complexity to our Smoked Porter.

Pours a dark brown color. A creamy tan head retains well. Good looking brew!
In the nose, typical notes of dark chocolate, dark toast, biscuit and caramel. The distinguishing feature is the aromas of smoked malts, evoking notes of sweet honey and wood.
In the taste, rich and creamy malts, moderately sweet with notes of biscuit, dark toast, and caramel. Well balanced with a touch of roasted malts, bittersweet dark chocolate and earthy hops, all providing a gentle yet assertive bitterness. The notes of smoked malts add a depth touch and integrate well with the other flavors.
Medium bodied with an ultra smooth, creamy and fluffy mouthfeel that is heavenly. The finish is smooth and dry with a bit of roast and smoke. The carbonation is moderate to gentle.
Awesome smoked Porter, great mouthfeel balance and nice subtle touch of smoke. I would have again.

On draught. I love smoky beers and this one definitely delivers but by no means overpowering. This is quite accessible for anyone who savors dark beer. The pour is near-black dark dark brown with a dense tan head and decent lace. The aroma is wonderful: the smell of wet firefood burning along with dark soil, coffee & dark chocolate and peat moss burning. The taste lives up to the aroma but is not overbearing; it is balanced, dry and well rounded with a medium to heavy body and minimal carbonation. Lovely

Poured from a bottle into a snifter, the beer is jet black, with a fluffy, foamy, light tan head. Aromas of camp fire, subtle chocolate, and bitter coffee. Flavors are smoky forward, with a solid backbone of toffee and chocolate, bitter roasted coffee, and earthy highlights. Robust and dry bodied, with a smoky and chocolate aftertaste. The finish is smooth and dry, with a sweet and smoky linger. Balanced and tasty.

Pours a thin head on a black body.
The aroma is mild smoke and roasted malt.
The taste is mostly roasted malt with mild smoke and touch of burnt wood.
The texture is fizzy with moderate carbonation.
It's nice without an overpowering smoke flavor.
