Pours a nice golden tinted with orange, decent head that disapates into thin lace. Strong citrusy aroma, mainly grapefruit but also orange. Being an ipa, the bold hops presence is certainly there. Beyond the hops there is, as the name and aroma suggest, a strong grapefruit and orange presence. However, I feel like it tends to dominate at the expense of a malt backbone. Also, the citric tastes feel a bit orange soda like and the finish is a bit mineral watery. The carbonation is crisp and piercing. However, the body feels a bit thin for an ipa. Not a bad brew but I've come to expect a little more from Captain Lawrence.

Grapefruit all around. Didn't know what to expect but I love grapefruit. But an average beer with grapefruit flavor. Unique twist though. Would be great with fish, Sunday brunch, boat cruise. ( I don't have any other grapefruit beers to compare to).

On tap at Stags Head NYC
App: frothy white head, almost translucent orangeish yellow. Tons of lacing.
Smell: grapefruit tinged with a slight hoppy dankness
Taste: very grapefruit forward with some mild fruity hops like Amarillo or Centennial or even Cascade. Whatever malt presence there might have been is obliterated by grapefruit bitterness but there's room for it; all told the grapefruit / beer balance works. Loving the lingering dryness.
Mouthfeel: unassuming medium body. Slightly juicy, maybe a bit watery. Great lingering dryness on finish.
Overall: Carries off the grapefruit conceit admirably. Easy to drink.
