375ml corked and caged bottle into a Surly teku. Shared with schen9303.

Nose is very awkward. Hints of smoke, liquorice, anise, char and plum with a sprinkle of mint. Not bad... but very weird. Flavor is aggressive. Tart smoke and soy sauce. Prunes and plum tartness in the middle with roast, smoke and char. Like someone cleaned out a dirty barbecue grill in my sour beer. Puckering sour towards the end with flavors of sour dark cherries and vinegar. Not good. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Bubbly in the mouth and foamy going down with a puckering, dry finish. The body only adds to the off-putting flavor.

I don't know what happened to this beer and I don't want to know what happened. I just wanna put this one out of my memory forever.

3/5...on tap at the brewery. Pours dark brown, almost black, low foam. Hearty wheat nose, light citrus. Strong malty sour. Berries pile on. White wine flavors. Really tasty, smooth sour, and flavorful.

"An ale with buckwheat and blackberries then infected with brett to create a black, tart and funky sour."

On tap at the brewery and now enjoyed at home from a 1/2 growler.

Pours near black, very minimal head and leaves no film, collar or lace.

Minor vinigar on the nose.

Nice wild ale/sour with a more then moderate sour/tart bite. Dark berries providing a nice tart sour note.
