I'm a pretty big fan of CL's rye offerings; the Autumn Blazes, however, not so much. Pours a stunning garnet red, ruby highlights with shades of red that remind me of Freaktoberfest when it was blood red (is it still)? Aroma of hazelnuts, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, dark brown sugar, pumpkkin puree. Tastes like a pumpkin muffin, i.e. kinda grainy and less pie like in presentation, so the rye gives it a good malt backbone...pumpkin muffin with crystallized ginger chunks, faint expressions of cocoa, and rye spice or perhaps its the alcohol, which is otherwise very well hidden. It's actually smooth to drink, deceptively divine. A respectable beer by all accounts, but as far as pumpkin spice beers are concerned, in an echelon of its own.

" An Imperial pumpkin ale brewed with Carolina rye and spiced with pumpkin, ginger, cinnamon & nutmeg"

Enjoyed on draft at the brewery and now reviewed from a tall silver can...canned 10/21/17

Pours dark, ruby, brownish amber, medium hazed, typical khaki cap, lasting and then leaving dense low sheeting.

Sniff of fall spicing, especially ginger and cinnamon and yes, some pumpkin.

Full flavor brew, with more ginger, pumpkin, typical fall/thanksgiving spicing, feels and drinks like a hearty/heady/bold/flavorful winter warmer kinda brew. A bit of more ginger and malty sweetness in the finish. Well done and quite enjoyable...go get some cans/growlers at the source while they still are available...
