Copper golden color with a 4F head in a Spiegelau IPA glass. Excellent head retention, some of the best I have seen in an IPA.

Floral, fruit, vanilla, and earthy aroma.

The citrus becomes quite pronounced with warming. The taste broadens with warming, tropical fruit.

Medium body, with a biting hoppy finish with warming.

Excellent IPA. I greatly enjoy the beers from this New England brewery,

From the bottom of the can: "CANNED ON 06142018 1338 MPN 182" (The last bit is obscured by being printed on the edge of the can)

Appearance: The body is hazy with a light gold color. Fuzzy shadows are visible through the glass. It has a medium-sized fluffy white head. It has good retention.

Aroma: It smells like onions and chicken broth. It also smells of freshly cut mint leaves (not a minty aroma though). At times there was this odd plastic smell but it was infrequent. After sipping the beer that plastic aroma began to strengthen a bit more.

Taste: It tastes like plastic at first, but then it blends in with this flavor that tastes a bit like cedar and fades into the background a bit. Each sip starts the same, with that awkward plastic taste, then fades out a bit.

Mouthfeel: The beer doesn't drink very well. It feels a bit too thick on the palate and it has this raw, grating character mixed with bitterness that makes it hard to drink.

Overall: It is a rather unpleasant drink. Nothing in this beer tastes or feels like it was put together properly. The plastic flavor and builds up over time and it just becomes more and more unpleasant. On the positive side it has enough aromatic qualities that the brain forgets about the plastic for a brief moment before drinking the beer. It's not a beer I would drink again or recommend, but it is at least drinkable.

No dating on the can, it's a relatively new release, so it was brewed anywhere from a week (new batch) to 1.5 months ago (when it came out).

Pours a turbid pale orange in the glass with two fingers of rocky off-white head. Nose starts off very green, like it was just pulled out of the vat, crushed hop matter. Aromas of over-ripened guava, lemon, gooseberry, honeydew melon, pink grapefruit flesh and a hint of sauteed onion (DMS?). Taste brings in a different perspective. Seville orange, hint of vanilla bean, florals and little chemical tang from the lupulin powder. Taste ends with a lingering hop candy note. Medium body with above-average carbonation. As someone who's a bit oversensitive to lupulin powder (getting an artificial chemical note whenever it's in abundance, like it was made in a lab), I feel like I was prevented from enjoying this brew fully. I knocked a few categories .25 less because of it. Overall, this version of powder dreams is a bit muddled, mixing a traditional NEIPA in the nose for something reaching for a creamsicle in the taste. Still, it's very well brewed, with a great body and no alcohol detectable. I'm just not sure this one is for me. I may need to let lupulin brews sit in the fridge for a month or so to mellow out for my palette.

Opaque medium gold with an orange hue... Presents lots of fruits, from tropical to citrus to orchard - but the bitterness stays ahead of the sugars and despite a plush feel has a lean, green, vinous aspect that I liked... Picked up notes of lime, grapefruit, orange, green mango, and unripe melon... Mild sweetness, moderate bitterness, ample carbonation... Another nice release in the Powder Dreams series from Captain Lawrence... 5/31/18 canning...
