Decanted from a 12.7 oz (375 ml) bottle into a custom Sam Adams taster pint; from 2018 production and obtained at Captain Lawrence brewery.
A: Pours a cloudy, dark golden color with robust, white, large bubble head formation, leaving a one to two finger head, somewhat limited retention, and little or no lacing. Effervescence rising from bottom characterized by tiny bubbles.
S: Tangy and tart, but floral. Aromas of apple, cherry, and red berries predominate.
T: Tart to downright sour, semisweet to semidry, with flavors largely following the nose. Cherry particularly appreciable.
M: Light to medium bodied with robust initial effervescence with champagne-style bubbles that are short-lived. Tingly presence in the mouth.
O: A delicious, flavorful American Wild Ale. Captain Lawrence has had a lot of real hits in this area and this is no exception.
