On tap at The Old Toad in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a mostly clear light amber color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like toasted malt, light tea-like hops, and some light citrus.
This is pretty solid stuff, and obviously works very well in the context of the bar that it's made for. It's got a nice solid toasty and bready maltiness, just a touch of bitter tea-ish hops, and a really crisp feel on the back end. It's nothing that's going to knock your socks *completely* off, but it's enjoyable at what it does.
This is light bodied, clean, and crisp, with a very nice drinkability to it.
I haven't always loved Captain Lawrence lately, as they seem to have lost their way, but this still shows me they can make a well-brewed and classic beer.
